Volunteers

Welcome all VITA and TaxAide volunteers! We celebrate your commitment and are excited to work with you as we assist those that are less fortunate.

Let us know how we can give you the best volunteer experience. As we are humbled by your generosity, we are aware that we could not provide this community service without your dedication. To this we say, THANK YOU!

Get Started

If you have not yet found a tax site that you would like to assist, you may search for volunteer opportunities posted through United Way of the Greater Triangle. Each organization that lists a volunteer opportunity is ready to answer questions about the program that they provide.

Some organizations focus on Seniors, some on Latinos and others on families that qualify for tax credits. You can choose the organization that most fits your interests.

Get Trained

Comprehensive training is provided at no charge by our local IRS partners and by AARP. It is recommended to attend the free training if you are unfamiliar with tax preparation. If you are a seasoned veteran, then the Link & Learn online tool is a good bet for getting certified. Here is training information for 2009.

Get Information

If you have questions or need clarification on a certain announcement, feel free to post a comment. One of our VITA or Tax Aide volunteers will respond so that others with the same question will benefit! Additionally, feel free to utilize these training tools.
