All VITA and TaxAide volunteers agree to the following standards of conduct:

  • I will treat all taxpayers professionally, with courtesy and respect.
  • I will safeguard the confidentiality of taxpayer information.
  • I will apply the tax laws equitably and accurately to the best of my ability.
  • I will only prepare returns for which I am certified.
  • I will exercise reasonable care in the use and protection of equipment and supplies.
  • I will not solicit business from taxpayers I assist or use the knowledge I have gained about them for any direct or indirect personal benefit for me or any other specific individual.
  • I will not accept payment from taxpayers for the services I provide. I may receive compensation as an employee of a program sponsor.

Your information that you provide to a VITA or TaxAide volunteer is private and confidential. All participating sites take great steps to ensure the secure handling of your confidential information.

Website Privacy

The Wake EITC Coalition is sponsored by Fiscal Progress, which receives funding from community providers to maintain the website and to support coalition activities.

We are constantly striving to build long lasting relationships with you, our customers and business partners. In our effort to provide excellent service, we occasionally require information about you, such as your name and e-mail address, when you visit our site. This is necessary for access to particular areas, correspondence, providing subscriptions, and so forth.
